How does Invisalign for teens work?
At Johnson & Collins Orthodontics, we begin your teen’s free consultation by taking a digital scan of their teeth, capturing their dental anatomy in great detail. This scan is painless and fast. Dr. Collins, our Southlake and Bedford Invisalign orthodontist, then uses the scan to determine your teen’s customized treatment plan and work with Invisalign to create the custom aligners needed to improve their smile.
Your teen will need to wear each aligner set for 22 hours a day, for 1 – 2 weeks before switching to the next aligner in the set. Each aligner has the perfect amount of movement programmed in. Invisalign can be removed for brushing, flossing and eating, meaning your teen can continue to eat all their favorite foods and continue their current oral hygiene routine!
